2025 20th Anniversary Blue Note repress.
Norah Jones followed up her breakout debut with Feels like Home, released in February 2004 on Blue Note Records. Where Come Away with Me introduced her warm, understated blend of jazz and pop, Feels like Home stretches a little further into rootsier terrain, leaning more on country and Americana influences. The album features contributions from Dolly Parton on “Creepin’ In” and opens with the Grammy-winning single “Sunrise,” which became one of Jones’s signature songs.
While some critics found the album a touch too conservative, others praised its craft, mood, and consistency. The public response was immediate: it debuted at number one and sold over a million copies in its first week in the US alone. It spent six weeks atop the Billboard 200 and ended up as the second best-selling album of 2004. A quieter, more grounded follow-up than some expected, Feels like Home is a confident step that further cemented Norah Jones as a major voice in early 2000s pop.
